Your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. As it is written, "Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack." 2 Corinthians 8:14-15

MNA ShortTerm Missions: Linking Servants with Those Who Need Service
MNA ShortTerm Missions leads the development and implementation of a PCA/MNA wide vision of response to short-term ministry opportunities within North America.
Our purpose is to address these three opportunities:
Forming short-term groups that can assist sister PCA churches in many ways as God leads.
Recruiting families to move with church planters to join as lay people in new church plants.
Encouraging retirees to work longer term -- a year or two or more -- with church planters, e.g., serving as a church administrator with a church planter.
MNA ShortTerm Missions Director, Arklie Hooten
Arklie is an elder at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Elizabethton, TN. He and his wife Katherine are experienced in short-term missions. Arklie has organized and led mission teams in the United States - including extensive work on Native American reservations - as well as in Mexico and Canada. Encouraging others in Kingdom work has been one of Arklie's greatest joys. June 1, 2005, Arklie began leading the development of MNA ShortTerm.
How MNA ShortTerm Missions Works with You
- MNA ShortTerm Misions identifies PCA churches and presbyteries who are committed to assisting other churches and ministries in both Word and deed ministries.
- At the same time, MNA ShortTerm Missions identifies PCA churches, mission churches and other ministries within North America who have particular needs that can be met by effective ministry such as light construction and work projects, VBS, backyard Bible clubs, sports ministry, administrative work, English as a Second Language (ESL) schools, prayer walks, personal evangelism, working at homeless shelters, feeding the poor, and conducting day camps for first or second generation immigrant children through Bible study, arts and crafts, drama, and personal testimonies.
- MNA ShortTerm Missions works primarily on an informal basis, linking the resource churches with those whose needs can be readily addressed and then assisting in the implementation process as needed.
