MNA Disaster Response Training set for
March 10-11, 2010

MNA Disaster Response is hosting a Disaster Response Training (March 10-11, 2010) in conjunction with the 2010 Mercy Ministries Conference in Chattanooga Tennessee (March 11-13, 2010). This training will help equip those called to disaster response with skills necessary to participate in this vital ministry. It will be held in advance of the MNA/CE&P Mercy Ministry Conference. Disaster response training will be held at Camp Vesper Point (http://vesperpoint.org) which is a short drive from Chattanooga. This will be peer to peer training provided by key leaders from churches and presbyteries who led in past relief efforts. Join us in building our PCA grass roots effort to minister among our churches and communities in time of disaster!

Who should attend? Everyone who would like to volunteer in future responses and those called to disaster response leadership roles in the local church and presbytery

The two-day training seminar is designed to equip and train those who would serve as future disaster response participants and leaders. Training will focus primarily on the initial phases of response: advance assessment and setting up staging sites, as well as ongoing site management. This training will be geared to two specific types of volunteers, those who would like to serve in a leadership role in their church or presbytery in disaster response as well as those individuals who would like to serve as a general volunteer. Churches and presbyteries should identify, recruit and send those who have leadership and management skills. Every church should send a representative to receive this training in order to facilitate being proactive in responding to disasters. This is a great way for churches and presbyteries interested in developing a disaster response ministry as a part of their overall mercy ministries to obtain very beneficial training.

By Assembly assignment, MNA is charged with coordinating the PCA response to disaster within North America. We are committed to train and equip our PCA churches and presbyteries to advance this vital physical and spiritual ministry that has proven its worthiness. Could God be calling you to participate in greater ways in the future?

MNA Is Preparing for Your Next Disaster, and We Need Your Help!

MNA Disaster Response is growing as we help all local PCA churches prepare for disaster events. As a part of this preparation, we desire to establish a critically needed, centrally located disaster response warehouse for the pre-positioning of supplies and equipment for our disaster response teams.
