Welcome to MNA's church planting web page. As you browse, we hope you will find many things to stimulate your thinking about church planting, and that you also will gain a broader understanding of MNA's ministry to the denomination as a whole as we seek to provide church planting resources.
Serving the Church to Advance God's Kingdom
Our Calling
To serve PCA Churches and presbyteries as they advance God's Kingdom in North America by planting, growing, and multiplying biblically healthy churches through the development of intentional evangelism and outreach ministries.
Our Vision
That God, by His Grace and for His own glory, will transform the PCA into a grassroots church planting culture that is:
- exponentially reproducing a growing number of biblically healthy churches
- seeing these churches characterized by significant conversion growth and ministries of mercy
- reaching the diverse communities and people groups of North America
Through a variety of means, MNA staff provides assistance to presbyteries, networks, and churches in developing this culture, including:
- Vision that directs and shapes church planting activity
- Strategic planning, including values, goals, and action plans
- Prayer mobilization that encourages prayer for the harvest (Matt. 9:38)
- Forming and equipping teams to move the vision forward
- Developing and cultivating potential church planters
- Recruiting church planters
- Assessment in the areas of calling, competencies, and character of potential church planters
- Training and mentoring men in effective church planting principles
- Placing church planters in suitable opportunities
- Training and coaching church planters in fundraising principles and methods
- Coaching and care of the church planter and his wife
- Celebrating what God is doing in Kingdom expansion through church planting in the PCA
We call the above the "Essential Functions in Church Planting."
