About MNA: Vision Statement

Mission to North America

Our Calling, Vision, and Strategic Plan

Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent that I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the Gospel. (Philippians 1:27)

OUR CALLING

To serve PCA churches and presbyteries as they advance God’s Kingdom in North America by planting, growing, and multiplying Biblically healthy churches through the development of intentional evangelism and outreach ministries.

OUR VISION

That God, by His grace and for His own glory, will transform the PCA into a grassroots church planting culture that is:

  • exponentially reproducing a growing number of biblically healthy churches
  • seeing these churches characterized by significant conversion growth and ministries of mercy
  • reaching the diverse communities and people groups of North America

(1) To see all PCA churches become “houses of prayer for all the nations” (Mark 11:7), embracing a Great Commission vision characterized by proactive engagement with their communities through kingdom prayer, intentional evangelism, ministries of mercy and social justice, community involvement, church planting, and global missions.

(2) To see the PCA, beginning with its leadership, reflect the demographic makeup of North America by seeing churches planted and people coming to Christ from the many diverse communities and people groups in our land.

(3) To impact the centers of influence in North America which are defined as:

  • Crossroads of society
  • City centers and metropolitan areas
  • Concentrations of cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic diversity

(4) To see the PCA planting churches in the regions of North America where there is little reformed and evangelical presence.

OUR PLAN

In pursuit of this vision MNA serves PCA churches and presbyteries in the following ways:

(1) Articulating a Kingdom advancing vision that provides unity, energy, and direction and, at the same time,

  • Affirms and/or assists in developing a contextualized, missional vision for each church, presbytery, and region
  • Communicates the wider perspective on church planting and other Kingdom advancing ministry in the PCA so that churches and presbyteries see the big picture and become active in reaching all of North America.
  • Continually calls the PCA to fulfill its mission to North America and communicates the needs, challenges, and opportunities before us.

( 2) Developing and articulating a strategic plan that implements this vision.

(3) Team building (networking, connecting, and facilitating strategic partnerships within the PCA) and Getting people together for such things as prayer; coordinating efforts; sharing ideas; addressing mutual concerns and issues; providing training, support and encouragement; and generally working together in Kingdom advancement.

(4) Resourcing the churches and presbyteries to develop the following essential church planting functions:

  • Prayer mobilization
  • Vision casting, strategic planning, team building
  • Developing, assessing, recruiting, placing, training, and coaching church planters
  • Helping to design and resource (e.g. Timothy Funds) church planting apprenticeships
  • Fund raising and financial management (including cash flow management and budget consulting)

(5) Encouraging a stewardship of time, talent, and treasure that will provide the resources for an exponentially reproducing church planting movement

(6) Equipping both mission and established churches in developing their church planting and outreach through such ministries and services as:

(7) Affirming the connectional value of the PCA as a denomination so that rising leadership and other new resources for Kingdom advancement are developed through PCA structures.
