| St. Roch Seeks Workers to Rebuild Sanctuary ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
St. Roch Community Church is one of the PCA's newest church plants and is located in the Eighth Ward of New Orleans. Mission to North America is seeking to assist this mission work by recruiting volunteers with construction skills and apprentices to help us rehab their "new" storm blighted church facilities. Click here for more information. |
Interns! Interns! Interns! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are looking for summer 2008 interns who are willing to raise support. Opportunities exist in a number of ministries, including multi-cultural church planting, Native American ministry and hurricane relief opportunities! We provide housing. Other dates are available throughout the year, and many times, we can contextualize the internship around your college or seminary schedule. If you know a student that may be interested in an internship opportunity, please contact The MNA ShortTerm Missions and Disaster Response Administrative Assistant at disasterresponse@pcanet.org. |
| Work with Hope for Hattiesburg to Bring God's Love to Mississippi's Hub City ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hattiesburg, Mississippi, is called the Hub City because of its confluence of roads, railways and waterways. The roads that served to evacuate Hurricane Katrina victims from the Gulf Coast were also used to bring volunteers who provided relief. In the early days of the Katrina Response, First Presbyterian Church served as a mobilization site by housing hundreds of PCA volunteers who helped provide immediate relief. When the decision was made to shut down the worksite, church leadership prayed that volunteers would someday return and participate in the long-term restoration of the community. We propose to assist folks still reeling from the effects of the storm by bringing hope, while exposing mission teams from other geographical areas and cultures to a racially diverse mission field. By creating an environment where mutual dignity builds trust, we are seeking to build close relationships and share the Gospel in a message of compassion to needy people within the East Hattiesburg community. Click here for more information. |
Disaster Response Training CD ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The spring months are an ideal time to form teams and prepare your ministry for the tornadoes and floods of the Spring. Mission to North America Disaster Response has produced a CD containing training materials, presentations and informative supplemental documents. These materials are provided to churches and individuals who would like to become involved in Disaster Response ministry and to those already involved seeking more information and tools. If your church is interested in obtaining a free copy of this CD for their Disaster Response Ministry, please click here. |
